the location
Anguilla Elementary school has been abandon since the early 1990s. It sits on 7 acres of land and is the ideal location for the future home of "A Center for Hope."
A Center for Hope, Inc. is a nonprofit organization established solely to restore hope and revitalize all areas of Sharkey County and its surrounding communities. The core of the restoration and revitalization will be the old school building located in Anguilla, MS, which has been unoccupied for decades and is positioned in the ideal location of the town. This building will serve as the heart of several communities and will be used to transplant the town from its current critical state.
The town of Anguilla is the center point for several small cities, towns, and communities in that area of the Delta. Some of those places are Cameta, Nitta Yuma, Delta City, Panther Burn, Straight Bayou, Percy, Estill, Grace, Midnight, Louise, Rolling Fork, Cary, Mayersville, Onward, Grace, Glen Allan, Hollandale, and Holly Bluff. These places are as close as 2 miles to and as far as 14 miles from the town of Anguilla. They are all surrounded by farmland and have the potential for growth and improvement.

benefits
Playtime allows children and young adults to be creative, develop physically and emotionally, and interact in the world around them.
The restoration project will not only impact the town of Anguilla, but the surrounding communities will also benefit from the programs, projects, jobs created, recreational activities, and resources birthed from its existence.
A Center for Hope will create jobs for people in the area relative to the demolition and construction of its proposed facilities, as well as the programs and facilities produced from its existence.
It will provide resources that will enhance the health and personal lives of the individuals there who take advantage of its offerings, increase the knowledge relative to life-skills, farming, health and well-being, and community growth, and lay a foundation for growth and maintenance.
